Plan Your Gangotri Yamunotri Darshan For A Fulfilling And Peaceful Tour

Gangotri and Yamunotri are the two most popular pilgrimage sites for Hindu devotees. It is a part of the Char Dham yatra, which is often considered the holiest pilgrimage tour that Hindus can take. When you are planning your Char Dham Yatra, Gangotri Yamunotri darshan becomes an integral part of this trip.

However, it has often been observed that many people find it difficult to take the entire Char Dham Yatra at once. So they decide to take the journey of Do Dham. Gangotri and Yamunotri become their first choice, as Yamunotri is the first Dham of the journey, and people are willing to complete the journey in sequence. So when they come back next time they can complete their Char Dham yatra by visiting the other two Dham.

Significance of these two Dhams:

Yamunotri is the source of the River Yamuna. The Dham is dedicated to the sacredness of the Goddess Yamuna. Located at the height of 3293 mts above sea level, Yamunotri brings you close to divine nature. Nestled in the Uttarkashi district, the region is surrounded by mountains on all its sides. For all who love adventure, this region is near the Indo-China border!

The region provides peace and tranquillity to visitors. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Yamuna is the twin sister of the God of Death, Yama, and daughter of Sun God, Surya, and one of the Ashtabharya, eight consorts of Krishna. She is said to be the Goddess of perseverance and is a divine goddess. A bath in the River Yamuna is considered to purify your sins and protect you from unpleasant and untimely death. It is the first stop-over for the Char Dham yatra and hence lies the importance of Gangotri Yamunotri darshan.
