The Chardham Yatra is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages, consisting of four temples called Gangotri, Jamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand. It is believed that these sacred temples were established in the eighth century by the great saint Sri Adi Shankaracharya.
