Kumbh mela is a major pilgrimage and festival of Hinduism. Allahabad (meeting of the Ganga-Jamuna Saraswati river), Haridwar (Ganga), Nasik (Godavari) and Ujjain (Shipra) are the four holy river side locations where the all the kumbh melas take place in a cyclic way. Devotees believe bathing in this river is a medium to get rid of atone for past errors, and it rinse out their sins. The festival is recognized by UNESCO and is also part of the unique cultural iteration of the list of humanities. The next Kumbh Mela will be held in Haridwar in 2021. The last Kumbh Mela was held in Allahabad in 2019 and in Haridwar in the year 2010. A religious event, where millions of devotees from all over the world attend.

Type of Kumbh Mela

Maha Kumbh Mela:- It comes every 144 years or after 12 full (complete) Kumbh Melas. It takes place in Prayagraj only.

Full Kumbh Mela:- It comes every 12 years. Initially, the 7 Kumbh Mela fairs in India are held in places like Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nasik and Ujjain. It rotates to these 4 places every 12 years.

Half Kumbh Mela:- This means a half Kumbh Mela which is held in Haridwar and Prayagraj in only two places every 6 years in India.

Kumbh Mela:- Four separate venues are organized and organized by the state governments. Millions of people take part in spiritual encouragement.

Magh Kumbh Mela:- This is known as small Kumbh Mela which is held annually and just in Prayagraj. It is controlled according to the Hindu calendar in the time of Magh.
The date for the 2021 Kumbh Mela just has been announced. Kubh Mela 2021 will start on January 14 with the auspicious occasion of Capricorn. The first Shahi bath will be held on March 11 and the second and third will be held on April 12 and 14, in that order. The fourth Shahi bath will be held on 27th April and the same day Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021 will end.

How to get to Kumbh mela-

In the year 2021, Kumbh mela is going to be taken place in Haridwar. So, you have to reach Haridwar first.

Air:- The nearest airport to Haridwar is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. Direct planes are available to the major cities like Delhi and Mumbai from Deradun. Anyone can rent a taxi from outside the airport.

Train:- Haridwar railway station connects it with other parts of the country. It has good rail connectivity with key cities of India like Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna, Dehradun, Delhi, Jaipur and many more.
