Ooty, also known as Udagamandalam, is a hill station in Tamil Nadu which serves as a very popular tourist destination for anyone looking for a picturesque place to relax and unwind. At a distance of 89 km from Coimbatore, 128 km from Mysore, 265 km from Bangalore,158 km from Kozhikode, 244 km from Munnar, 254 km from Kodaikanal, 18 km from Coonoor & 556 km from Chennai, Ooty is one of the best hill stations in India and also one of the top places to experience Tamilnadu Tourism. Ooty is nestled amidst the Nilgiri hills at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level and enjoys a favourable climate all year round. Ooty was an untouched area inhabited by Todas, an aboriginal tribe who inhabited the place since ancient times. It was discovered by the British in the early 1800s, who made it the summer capital of the Chennai Presidency. Various popular tourist spots in Ooty are the Rose Garden, Botanical Garden which has some rich flora of the region, Ooty lake, tea garden and coffee plantations, Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary.
